Ariana Grande Has Reportedly Pulled Out of Grammys 2019

As much of the music world prepares for the annual Grammy awards on Sunday, one of this year's most buzzed about pop stars will reportedly not be attending. Despite previous reports that Ariana Grande would be performing and attending this year's ceremony, a source has reportedly revealed that the "7 Rings" singer has decided not to go to the event.

According to Variety, a source allegedly told the publication that Ariana was "insulted" after her request to perform "7 Rings" was reportedly denied. The source alleges that after the singer's choice of song was denied, producers tried to reach a compromise, reportedly telling Ariana that she could perform "7 Rings" in a medley. However, producers wanted to choose an additional song that the artist would perform. Ariana then reportedly pulled out of both performing and attending.

The Grammys did not return a request for comment from Variety, but the source alleged that other acts featured in the show were not required to meet similar standards. As noted by fans on Twitter, Ariana has been featured in promotional imaging for the show.

Ariana is nominated for two 2019 Grammy awards, including Best Pop Solo Performance for the single "God Is A Woman" and Best Pop Vocal Album for Sweetener, which was released last year. This appearance would have been just days after Ariana released her newest album, Thank U, Next.

Despite Ariana's reported absence, some of the most noted names in music are still slated to attend. BTS will present an award, and acts including Shawn Mendes, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Camila Cabello and Cardi B are all scheduled to perform.
