A Kid Show Where You Might Laugh More Than The Kids #BigCityGreensEvent

I was selected by Disney to attend these events and experiences. This was an all-expense paid opportunity and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

When I headed to LA for fun at Disneyland and to celebrate the Incredibles 2 premiere, I also got the opportunity to get a sneak peek viewing of Disney Channel’s new animated comedy series Big City Greens.

Listen, I sooooo can’t get over the fact that this show was created by two brothers. Can you imagine? Living a dope childhood alongside siblings and then getting the opportunity to create a TV show WITH your siblings that is loosely based off of said childhood? This must have been a dream come true for Chris and Shane Houghton.

If you haven’t caught any of the previews yet, I think this is the kind of show that kids of all ages (especially older kids) and parents will enjoy. The laughs are plentiful, the episodes have heartfelt messages and I’m all about celebrating families that don’t exactly fit the mold.

What’s this show about, B?

Hilarious and adventurous Cricket Green is a 10-year old who has landed in the big city. Born and raised in the country, viewers will get the chance to follow Cricket, his older sister Tilly and his new city friend as they get into all kinds of fun trouble. Cricket wants nothing more than to fit in (or at least pretend to fit in) and though his intentions are well, he gets into mischief along the way. The episodes that we saw all ended in feel-good moments with plenty of takeaways that I know parents will enjoy and appreciate.

Are the brothers featured in the show?

Yes and no. We got the opportunity to sit down with both Chris and Shane Houghton and also wanted to get more details on how everything played out. The main character Cricket is loosely based off of Chris Houghton. The brothers shared with us some of their hilarious misadventures down to Chris riding lawn mowers as a kid. It turns out, there are scenes in the show where Cricket is doing the exact same thing. Cool, right?

I’m confident that the show will do great and I can’t wait to enjoy this will EB. Perhaps some of the humor will go over her 5-year old head but I know she’ll enjoy the hilarious antics that Cricket gets in.
